Friends

Yesterday I saw one of my oldest friends for the first time in ages. The type of friend who, even though it's been months, you can pick up where you left off.

The great project life dilemma

Since doing December Daily (or attempting too) this year, I've got a bit of a bug for pocket scrapbooking. I say every year I want to do project life but never manage it but this year I'm almost certainly, say 75%, thinking I want to do it.

But what album to go for? I like the size of the 6x8 - small always seems easier - but what make? Simple stories? Studio calico? The triple rings of the studio calico are nice and I have a few page protectors already. Or do I go 9x12? Oh the dilemma!!

Tuesday 15

Sorry for the out of sync post!!

Tuesday 15 was a special day in that the first British astronaut to the International Space Station blasted off from Kazakhstan.  I put the launch on TV but safe to say, Ella wanted to watch something else. I did manage to persuade her to try and build a rocket from her blocks.

Wednesday 16

A busy day with a very well behaved three year old. Well. Mostly.
We got up and out early and went to a preschool group at a soft play centre. Ella got to run and play as well as paint and play with playdoh.
Then we met daddy for lunch and again, Ella was a star.
I had a few shops to pop into and there was no moaning and only one wee stop!
Both  girls fell asleep in the car on the way home and that's where I made a mistake... I tried to wake Ella up so she would sleep that night. Never try to wake her. There is thrashing. There is screaming. Unfortunately there was also a three year old who didn't fall asleep until 2145....

Braved town. Got my eyes tested as they feel really strained. Took the girls to meet Santa. Met auntie nat and uncle Ryan. Browsed the fabric shop. Childminders Christmas party.

Also, I feel I'm in that fuggy place after pregnancy. Still no mojo but making slight progress with Crochet and, thanks to my Simple Stories prize, my December Daily.

8th

Saturday night took a turn for the vomitty. Poor big girly was very Ill, washing machine working overtime which meant that...
....Sunday 6 was quarantine day. Tv and Aida. Luckily no more poorly. Marcus was out doing chores all day so I went a little stir crazy. When he came home, me and Rosalind went for a nice hour out at Costa.
Monday 7 was supposed to be our trip to the Santa Workshop , but, sods law, Eleanor was Ill again. So, no Santa, more tv. One very upset but mature and understanding three year old.
Today, Tuesday 8th, is Rosalind's hip scan. All babies here have them if they are born breech. So far, no more poorly Eleanor, but she has taken herself up to bed for a morning nap. Hopefully she's on the mend. Also today, I tried Rosalind in cloth nappies for the first time; scary stuff!!

Really hoping December gets better! My December Daily album is looking very dull!!

Also, this week is Hanukkah! So for all those who celebrate, have  a wonderful week (Menorah belonged to Marcus's grandparents).

The 5th

Lazy morning. Not much achieved. Costa trip. Mini tree for Ella's bedroom - probably no big tree this year due to nutty cat, so little one in ellas room. Last episode of Dr Who.

Do i?

I don't need another filofax do I? Especially a lovely gold one? Really? Somebody tell me I don't...

December 4.

Yes I know I've skipped Dec 3, but Thursdays and Fridays are my Ella free days and I don't feel they're that interesting! They tend to be full of 'getting stuff done'.
I started writing Christmas cards yesterday and managed two. Watched half a film between chores and baby snuggles. Time out in Costa with my sister.
Today has been more jobs with Rosalind attached to me in the wrap. Bought a bag full of tinned food for a local persons trip to a refugee camp in Calais and dropped it off with some clothes. Spent a few minutes on my December Daily.

Dec first

I really wanted to do a Dec daily this year. I even won a selection of Claus and Co. goodies from Simple Stories. But there just doesn't seem to be the time! Rosalind is not a napping by self baby, which means mummy can't just do stuff..even day to day stuff!! So I'm going to take photos and as and when I get the chance, put together a really simple album. It won't be a style I want but at least using my free goodies, I might actually complete an album for once!

You cant be perfect all the time

Its true. And trying to be is nearly making me ill. Hand in hand with a new baby is remembering that jobs need to be prioritised and its ok if the washing doesnt get done. Having a three year old around the house three days out of five in the week is HARD; tempers get frayed..breathe. Timings go to pot. Ask for help. Crying is ok, as is chocolate. Lack of sleep is a killer but fingers crossed, wont last forever; babies are meant to wake, adults are not.

It will get better.

I want my mojo

I remember this phase from last time..wanting to be creative but not having the oomph to do it. I want to crochet, to scrapbook, write letters, bake, play with my planner. I want to have a go at Project Life, read....anything! Not only do new babies suck your energy, they also suck your creativity. Im waiting eagerly for its return!

First fireworks

Last week we took the girls to see fireworks. Rosalind was not bothered at all. Eleanor just wanted a glow stick!
