Losing the love

I don't know what to do. I'm really struggling to find my roller derby love right now. I think the fact I can only practice once a week so I'm not as confident as everyone else doesn't help. Because of this, I KNOW I won't be good enough to play in games, which leads me to think 'why bother'. I can't do PAYG sessions anymore, so dropping in isn't an option, but having paid out for skates, I don't want to just drop it. I'm tired all the time so come 8pm I'd rather be in bed than sweating it out on track.

We were only a team of 8, and the final score was a wipeout, but it was a great experience.

i started young

My friend's mum sent me this photo from his 6th birthday party. Thats me in the stripey NASA tshirt. On roller skates. Yup, i started young.

in which i miss time BP - before pregnancy

dont get me wrong, i love the whole pregnancy thing....well...except the sickness, tiredness and other nesses. what i hate is feeling like a social leper.

i loved Roller Derby. i still do. but obviously it doesnt really go well with pregnancy. so i had to stop. that was 17 weeks ago and i miss it so much; i miss the sweaty practices, the socialising, the gossip....

my team are now at the point where bouting against others is getting closer and closer..and i cant be as much a part of it as i would like. i feel like things are moving so fast and im being left behind, and thats tough, especially as i was in it from the start.

i just want my wheels back.

Darwin is my Aww. we've semi officially adopted him and am taking him for his big boy operation on friday.

And this is my ow. my palm sized, roller derby related bruise. very ow.

It seems that since we took Darwin in, everything else has been put on hold. I havent crocheted, i havent used the scrapbooking kit i bought..buts its all ready to go when i get the chance.

19th March was the Royal Windsor Roller Girls v The Copenhagen Heartbreakers, a roller derby bout filled sequins and sparkles.

because it's been too long...

My derby name tshirt. The name still has to be registered but all others close to it come up as 'low', so i shouldnt have a problem.

Our little team has been going for 5 months now. We've had some press coverage, which has got our numbers to a more healthy point, and im starting to notice the change from so much exercise! As well as our regular training session, a few of us have started to attend a 'family' session at a local leisure centre, which has been great fun!

I've added a new navy hat to my etsy and relisted the ever popular grey.

on Saturday, my Derby team and i went to Newport to watch the Tiger Bay Brawlers vs Bristol Harbout Harlots. We supported the Harlots, who were unfortunately thrashed but the Brawlers. An enjoyable night all round.
