busy bee

yup thats me! between skating practice, work and uni, ive not had time to breathe!!

The girls are getting their summer gear on and im almost at the top of FrankieDARLING's commission list. I've decided Pandora, my Amaryllis, is going to get the full treatment!

I'm also on the lookout for blythe sized skates - i keep missing out on sales!!

The heartache is easing, and we're not crying all the time. We still miss our boy terribly but life has to go on.

I originally did this LO for April's category stories challenge, but as a group we have since decided to put the blog on hold, partly due to decreasing participation and partly due to increasingly busy lives.

You can still have a go at the challenge if you like, it was to be '-----or-----', so i chose 'ice cream or hubby?'. This was an old joke between us, as i always used to say i loved him more than Ben and Jerrys.

sad times

yesterday was truly awful. our beautiful cat Tom died suddenly in his sleep. i cried solidly for 9 hours. our house is so empty without his talking, hearing his bell jangling, sitting on our laps.. Marcus woke up at 4am (Tom's usual 'feed me' time) and was adamant he'd heard Tom's bell and felt him jump on the bed. its going to be tough.

19th March was the Royal Windsor Roller Girls v The Copenhagen Heartbreakers, a roller derby bout filled sequins and sparkles.

what has happened in Japan is truly awful. any natural disaster is shocking by itself, but when a country suffers two in one day, then has to contend with a potential nuclear disaster, no words can describe it.

Junko wong, who is big in the blythe world, is posting regular blog updates on the state of things.

The Blythe world is general is being amazingly generous. So many people setting up auctions and things to raise money. The FishberryJam blog has a list of auctions and raffles currently running.

Other things to do: donate to the Red Cross. i do a monthly donation.

donate to Shelterbox. i have also done this. check out what they do. its amazing.

not to be

my excitement over moving has come crashing down to earth with a big fat bang. We had 2 estate agents over last week to value us for part exchange. Bovis called over the weekend and said they had a figure..it was awful. we've worked so hard to pay of a chunk of our mortgage, but their offer would negate all that and put us negative, AND it was £15,000 below the market value. there is no way we can afford to move if that is their best offer.

so understandably i was disappointed and a little upset, but we have decided to move on and look to sell on the open market, even if it is only an exercise and doesnt lead to anything. i have contacted the agents who came around last week to see what they can do.h
